WELCOME

Welcome to Our Parish Community of St. Lawrence!

The heart of a parish is the Eucharist, but the parish family is the body that makes it a unique and vibrant community with an exciting parish life. Whether you’re visiting us for a brief time, seeking a new parish home, returning to the practice of your Catholic faith, or exploring the Catholic Church for the first time, we are happy to have you here.

A parish is more than a place to worship; it is a community of believers and a spiritual family that is supportive and loving. It’s a place to grow spiritually, put your faith into action, and share your gifts of time and talent as disciples of Christ.

Opportunities to Get Involved

Our parish offers a variety of ways to be part of our community beyond the celebration of the sacraments. These include:

Faith Formation

Faith formation is a vital element of Catholic life, helping us grow in knowledge and understanding of our faith in Jesus Christ and the Church He gave us. A deeper understanding can lead to a more intimate relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and through the Trinity, to the Church and our family, friends, neighbors, and community. Faith formation is not just for children but for all ages. Explore the many opportunities for faith formation offered by our parish.

Parish Ministries

God calls us to use our gifts and talents to glorify Him and serve others. Our parish ministries provide numerous ways to answer that call:

  • Liturgical Ministries: Choir member, lector, altar server, Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist.
  • Support and Outreach Ministries: Visiting the homebound, caring for the needs of the vulnerable, poor or homeless, or joining the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
  • Community and Fellowship Groups: Youth ministry, men’s and women’s groups, and events like the annual parish bazaar.

If you have an idea for a new parish ministry, we would love to hear from you. Please prayerfully consider these opportunities to get involved.

Staying Connected

With so many ways to be part of parish life, staying informed is essential. Keep up-to-date by regularly reading the weekly bulletin, checking the parish calendar for events and Mass schedules, and visiting our website for updates.

    • How can I register as a new parishioner?

There are two easy ways to belong to the St. Lawrence parish community.

      1. For those who do not wish to register online, you may stop by the parish office, either during business hours or on weekends after Mass, to obtain a registration form. Once you have completed the registration form, you may return it to the receptionist (or welcoming minister) to be processed.

      2. For those who are comfortable with technology, we offer a simple registration process

We ask everyone to please read the parish expectations to become familiar with them before requesting services or sacraments.

    • How can I schedule a Mass Intention?

To schedule a Mass Intention, please come by the welcome window during office hours (Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm) and we will help you.

Click here to view available intentions.

      Please note:

      • There can only be 1 intention per Mass. While you can always pray privately for different intentions, we can only officially accept one intention per Mass.
      • It is customary to give a stripend when you offer a Mass. The purpose of the stipend is to invite the person offerring the intention to participate in the sacrificial aspect of the Mass; but also to support the mission of the church. While it is not compulsory to do so, it is strongly encouraged. Note that though the stipend is any amount the person can afford, we recommend at least $25.00 based on local norms.
      • Given the high demand for Mass Intentions at St.Lawrence, every family should consider offerring no more than five (5) Mass intentions in a calendar year. This gives others the opportunity to offer Masses for their loved ones.
      • Always make an effort to place your request for a Mass intention as soon as you can (first come, first serve). You will be able to request a Mass intention up to six (6) months before the intended date. This eases planning and reduces any confusion. Note that, though you might not always get the specific date you'd like, the value of every Mass is the same.
