What is EDGE?
EDGE is a Catholic middle school youth ministry program. It provides a safe fun place for youth to find solid Catholic community, to get answers to their questions about faith, and, most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way. The curriculum for Edge is firmly rooted in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Each Edge session walks middle school students through the rich tradition and teaching of our faith.
Every Edge session will begin with a Gather. During the Gather, the youth are welcomed, given a brief introduction to the Edge session, participate in ice breakers, and begin our session in prayer. The youth will then listen to the Proclaim, or the lesson of the session. After every Proclaim, the youth will divide into small groups with a Core Leader to dive deeper into the content that was presented. The Send concludes each session; this is where the youth are given an opportunity to encounter Jesus through a variety of prayer experiences.

What is Camp Hidden Lake?
Hidden Lake is a Catholic retreat center, focused on providing teens with an opportunity to encounter God within the beauty of His creation. Each day your teen will experience daily Mass, opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and other powerful prayer experiences. The evening sessions, led by a dynamic speaker, will break open scriptural topics to lead teens into a more authentic encounter with Christ. During the daytime, teens will enjoy high ropes courses, obstacle courses, mud pits, ziplining, canoeing, swimming, and paddle boarding at the lake.

How do I fundraise for Camp Hidden Lake?
There are several options available for fundraising. There is a sample sponsorship letter that your child may edit or personalize however you like and send to family or friends to ask for financial support.
Additionally, in Januarywe hope to begin a fundraiser with Sock Religious (www.sockreligious.com) which will take place both online and in person. Stay tuned for more information about this after Christmas!
In March we will be bringing back our annual Fat Tuesday Spaghetti Dinner. This event last year allowed us to cover the costs for our adult chaperones, and provide a number of partial scholarships. This year the proceeds will be split among those who are both registered for camp AND volunteer for the event. Stay tuned for more fundraising plans later this spring.
Please note that once a fundraiser is completed, the funds will be split up among those who are already registered AND they must help participate in the fundraiser in some fashion. If they are not yet registered or do not participate they will not be eligible for a portion of those funds. Register early to participate in both fundraisers!
Who can attend Camp Hidden Lake?
Camp Hidden Lake is for rising 6th grade through current eighth grade. If your child will be entering middle school next year, or is currently in middle school they are eligible to attend!
Where is Camp Hidden Lake?
Camp Hidden Lake is located in Dahlonega, GA
How can I pay for Camp Hidden Lake?
The full price for Camp Hidden Lake is $825 per child. The parish of St. Lawrence has generously agreed to cover 1/3 of this cost. This leaves a remaining balance of $550 per child. This covers transportation to and from camp, all meals and activities while at camp, and a St. Lawrence EDGE t-shirt.
Camp Hidden Lake can be paid for in one of two ways.
If you choose, the full payment can be made at the time of registration. This will secure your spot and ensure that no more payment notices will be made to you between now and our departure for camp. The full cost per teen is $550.
The second option is that the $100 deposit is made during the registration process, and then payments can be made through a separate link, or the remaining cost can be fundraised for through your own personal efforts combined with fundraising events sponsored by EDGE at St. Lawrence. Please note that if you are not able to fundraise for the remaining amount you will be responsible for whatever the remaining balance is on your child’s account.
