Funeral & Columbarium

Funerals and Columbarium

We provide a wide range of services to meet your needs. We promise to provide assistance every step of the way.

What to expect before the meeting.

At St. Lawrence, praying for and celebrating the life of your loved ones who have passed away is our honor and our privilege.  We will walk with you in this difficult time as we celebrate beautiful, respectful funerals for your loved ones. Our regular funeral times are 11:00am and 2:00pm Monday through Friday, and Saturday, when available. For the funeral program, we will need a photo of your loved one and we ask that you give prayerful thought to a short biography with memories and achievements of your loved one's life.

Please consult the following liturgical resources as you prayerfully discern and plan for your or your loved one's Funeral Mass.  We hope that these resources are helpful; however, if you run into any issues, please don't hesitate to contact the parish office and speak with Lori Crocker (for English Funerals) or Cristina Corbin (for Spanish Funerals).

All Columbarium & Brick Paver requests should be directed to Brandy Lake, Director of Business Operations, (770)963-8992 ext. 448.

Columbarium

Since the earliest days of the Church, the parish grounds have been the natural repository and final resting place of deceased members of the Christian community. Burial within the church building or in the adjacent cemetery was once a common practice and a beautiful expression of the cycle of human life from birth to death and eternal life. The land needed for a cemetery is no longer available for most parishes and a host of laws and regulations make it difficult to establish a cemetery. In recent years, cremation with reverent disposition of remains has become more common. In the design for the renovation of our church, St. Lawrence Church planned a columbarium located in the inner courtyard so that the remains of deceased worshipers could be reverently placed in the grounds of the church that played such an important role in their lives.

A columbarium niche is moderately priced, aesthetically pleasing, and eco-friendly. The courtyard setting and columbarium create a comfortable gathering place for families and friends to come together in love and remembrance, a comforting link between death and life.

For more information, please contact Brandy Lake, Director of Business Operations, and read through the Columbarium Brochure.

Please note this is an optional service we offer to all who are looking for a place to rest their or their loved ones' cremains.
